Adventurous Day In The Mississippi Delta

my cousin keith & my uncle skeezie almost had to come pull my moms car out of the mud here at drew on zamma rd. where skeezie lives but he and skeezie were 20 minutes away in cleveland. haha, keith said he would come by and wave and laugh at us, but luckily one of uncle skeezies neighbors came and pulled us out with a chain, yes we were almost in the ditch.lol and before that happened we almost hit a deer it was a very close call, almost hit the deer about 5 or 6 miles outside of yazoo city. so it has been an adventurous day here in the delta! lol!!! one of those days where somebody had to come save us. i dont think i have had that much excitment in one day here in the mississippi delta ever!!


i heard a story that my mom once flooded my dads car a long time ago before i was born doing the same thing, got stuck on a muddy gravel rd. and drove off in the ditch and flooded the car. LOL!! she & aunt karen both.


its not the first time i have been with someone in the same situation only i was in madison and not in the delta, i was leaving church with a friend of mine and it was dark and she couldnt see and it was muddy cause it had been raining and ...she ran off in the ditch and couldnt back out, so i got on the phone and called my good friend joey and ask where austin was at to see if he could come pull us out. but luckily before we got austin on the phone, a very nice person there at church pulled us out with a chain, LOL! i will never forget that night!


anyway as we rode through shaw before we got to drew, we rode by the gin where my memaw works there in shaw, it was my first time to come by and see the gin and where the gin house use to be that my dad grew up in since the gin house burned down, i was very saddened by what i saw, there was absolutely nothing left of the house, as we drove away i had tears in my eyes, that was a very sad moment for me. i kept looking back as we drove away.

anyway, now everyone, skeezie & keith & presley & buddy & my mom & brooks are all playing dominoes, we just ate dinner, it was delicious, corn on the cob, bar b que, cold slaw, for dessert: key lime pie : chocolate cake & cherry dump cake & Caramel Cake. we are all having a blast tonight.
