On December 1st Skylar Laine will be kicking off the season of giving by performing 2 benefit concerts at the Jackson Academy Performing Arts Center.
On December 1st Skylar Laine will be kicking off the season of giving by performing 2 benefit concerts at the Jackson Academy Performing Arts Center. Being A Door Holder & Lending A Helping Hand In Time Of Need
very sad that tonight was the last life group for atleast 3 weeks or so. I am going to miss my Tuesday Nights! technically last week was suppose to be the last week but we had one more group tonight.
its so great to be a helping hand in time of need! helping Dana from life group out tonight and threw a ham and cheese dish together real quick, and gathered up a roll of napkins, forks, spoons, paper plates for life group tonight.
ever need to throw something together at the last minute for a bible study group to eat, EASIEST THING EVER TO THROW TOGETHER Ham, Cheese, I just took the block of ham and took it apart and threw it in a dish and cut up some cheese and threw it in the dish! I mean I did this SUPER LAST MINUTE LIKE ON MY WAY OUT THE DOOR TONIGHT! my mom taught me a trick when I got home she said next time you can get pickles and cut em up and roll it up in the ham and put a tooth pick in it. so I'll have to remember that when groups start back up in about 3 weeks or so.
I know our pastor Bryant would be very proud of me tonight for helping Danna out tonight. because the girl Danna & I usually ride with every tuesday night, we car pool on tuesday nights, Mary couldn't come to group tonight for some reason, so Mary text me kind of last minute just as I was getting ready to go because I knew Mary would be arriving at my house any minute and she says I cant make it tonight, but I called Danna's husband Richard and he and Danna can pick you up, so I said okay, do you know what time ?? she said no but probably around 5:30pm. so I said okay thank you. she said your welcome. that was the end of the conversation.
so a little bit later Danna calls and leave me 2 messages, I had the music in my room blasting while I was getting ready and I didnt hear the phone so anyway, Danna says hey its Danna I was checking to see if you had a ride there tonight or what because Mary is not coming tonight, so I didnt know what you were planning on doing so I need you to call me back and let me know. So I called Danna back and I said well Mary sent me a text message and said she had talked to your husband and said that ya'll would pick me up so I didnt think there was any need to call you. She said oh well we didn't know we were suppose to pick you up. so then she said okay well we can pick you up thats no problem, we will be there in a few minutes. and then we hung up and she turned around called back and ask if I had napkins, paper plates, forks, spoons and I said yeah why, she said well mary has all that stuff that we usually bring and shes not coming so if you would please bring that stuff so I said no problems and gathered that stuff up and put it in a bag and she said you are bringing something to eat right, I said well I didnt have time this time and she said okay thats fine I'll see you in a few minutes. so I ended up finding something to throw together real quick to bring. I thought about the ham and cheese we had in the frig that my mom said no one was going to eat that we had left over from something my mom was cooking to take over to brian and sara's this past weekend. So I took that block of ham apart and threw it in a dish and cut the cheese up and threw it in the dish and threw some aluminum foil over the dish and threw the dish in brian and sara's dish carrier and walked out the door and headed to life group with Danna.
So I know bryant would be so proud of me for throwing everything together at the very last minute like that, he calls it being a door holder. so ya'll know me, I never mind doing for others, I'm always doing for others. so I didnt mind being a door holder for Mary tonight. I am glad I could be of major help to Mary & Danna tonight.
Bryant was saying Sunday that my mom was a door holder for him and casey & beau so that beau could be there for his batism Service and so Casey could be there to watch beau get baptized. my mom was a door holder by keeping Lily home since she was sick.
